As an Egyptian DJ and music producer, Misty always maintained constant relationships with artists and record labels on a regional and international level. We saw him play shows all across the region, from intimate spaces in Amman to the big main stage performances in Cairo. He has also made many significant appearances in the international league. The last one was the release of his follow-up EP of Amandarai on Canadian producer Tone Depth’s label Flora, which got the support of some heavyweights in the industry like Nicole Moudaber. Misty’s sound has evolved throughout the past two years to attain a certain level of maturity that opened many doors for him.

Last week, Flora debuted a monthly radio show on When We Dip Radio that hosted mixes of internationally acclaimed DJs such as Audiofly and Sebastien Leger, to name a few. Misty was in charge of the first episode of “Floracast” and once again, he did not fail to impress; a curated one hour long auditory trip was the output. He started it off with "Lunga" by Prince Thomas, a deep-house psychedelic inspired track with shimmering guitars that make you wish you lived in golden days of the '60s. He smoothly went off from this to tracks by DJ Tennis and Mind Against, driving the musical pilgrimage towards a darker shade. Misty’s choice to close the set is his own track, “Closing”, that was released last week on Flora. The track is a melancholic piece of music driven by tribal percussion, perfect for a set closer.

Once again, Misty outdid himself and gave us reason to believe When We Dip's claim that he’s a name to keep an eye on in 2018. If you’re in Amman today, be sure to go see him play at CLSTR with Akladios for an Egypt takeover night.

Keep up with Misty on Soundcloud and Facebook.
